Badrinath, the seat of the god Vishnu in his aspect of Badrinarayan, is the most important of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage. Located in only a few kilometers from China, Badrinath is generally a two-day's journey from either Kedarnath, the site that precedes it in the Char Dham circuit, or one of the main disembarkation points on the plains. Also a member of the all-India Char Dham, Badrinath is one of the most important Vaishnava temples in India. As the route to Badrinath is for much of the way also the route to Hemkund Sahib, an important Sikh pilgrimage site, the road to Badrinath is especially crowded. The temple and its substantial surrounding village are accessible by road. The actual temple is a striking building whose bright colors evoke the painted Buddhist ghompas of the region; rumor has it that the temple was originally controlled by Buddhists.

It was an enchanting and bright sunny morning . We started from Rishikesh at around 7.00 and it was hills all the way.You should be blessed to visit that kind of places.It was awesome. Once u start entering into the abode of Badrinath,U will realize your Divine self.That temple will b open for only 3-4 months.I got the previlege of visiting the temple on the day of opening.I stayed there for a day and the scenic beauty is breathtaking and if there is something called rebirth, I wish,I could b born there.

There was lot of traffic.From one point called Joshimath,they regulate one way traffic.There is also an interesting piece of information regarding Joshimath.There is a temple in Joshimath where a God(forgot the name) is bringing his hand together,the interesting news is that the moment He makes a contact between his two hands,the world is going witness a change..

One more interesting thing in Badrinath is that U will see the beauty of Ganges at its ravishing best.there is a place called Tapthakund,a small portion where u should bath before entering the temple..The astonishing fact about this place is that Ganges which is cool in other places becomes very hot in that Tapthakund..

Everything apart,Badrinath is one of the places in India that u should visit atleast once in your lifetime.
